ONE purpose. ONE prayer. ONE reason. The Wesleyan Church united by the singular calling to save souls — for this, we give ourselves wholly.
We are Wesleyan.
And that name still carries what the Church needs: a high view of Scripture, dependence on the Holy Spirit, and confidence in the transforming grace of God.
Join General Superintendent Jim Dunn in praying the prayer of John 17:21 — that we would be ONE, so the world may believe in Jesus Christ.
This is who we are:
Scripture
We hold a high view of God’s Word — inerrant in its original form, the foundation for all we believe and do as a people of holy calling.
Holy Spirit
The Spirit who comes with power — transforming, sanctifying, and empowering us to be the witnesses for Christ that the world needs.
Optimistic Grace
Grace means no one is outside the grip of God. Everyone is eligible: here, around the world, lost, unreached. Everyone.
Born as one in 1968.
At the Merging General Conference of 1968, two denominations — the Wesleyan Methodist Church and the Pilgrim Holiness Church — became one. Their focus as they joined together was not their differences. It was John 17:21.
They were praying the prayer of Jesus — that we would be one, so that the world may believe. That prayer shaped the DNA of The Wesleyan Church from its very first day. The ONE initiative is not a new idea. It is the original one.
“That they all may be one…
so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
— John 17:21
“My prayer is that The Wesleyan Church would continue growing as a Spirit-filled movement marked by deep oneness, Christlike love, and a shared commitment to win souls for the Kingdom.”
— Jim Dunn
ONE Prayer
Lord, help us live and lead as ONE, so the world may Believe in JESUS Christ.
